London Underground / Network Rail

Station refurbishment and infrastructure maintenance for leading contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Clancy Docwra, Skanska and Spence Refit.

H&S Rail & Transport have carried out the following projects over recent years:

  • As part of Balfour Beatty’s ‘Metronet Alliance’ for London Underground, redecoration programmes at stations including Leyton, Bethnal Green, Elm Park and Wanstead

  • Network Rail station rebranding for Spence Refit on the Greater Anglia line

  • Station infrastructure projects with Clancy Docwra and Skanska

Working on the rail network is a highly specialised task and calls for particular skills and experience. H&S have all the necessary capabilities including:

  • Grit blasting, chemical and mechanical preparation

  • Specialist existing coating removal techniques (and hazardous waste removal)

  • Application of the latest industrial, marine and intumescent coatings

  • Rolling staff training in all necessary decorating and industrial painting techniques

  • Additional certification for the rail environment (including Full Achilles Accreditation)

As a result H&S have created working relationships such as:

  • Ongoing involvement in the ‘Metronet Alliance’ with Balfour Beatty

  • Preferred sub-contractor to Clancy Docwra, successfully completing a 4 year framework agreement on LUL

  • Inclusion in the new Clancy/Skanska framework agreement with LUL

  • Framework agreement with Spence Refit for rebranding throughout the Greater Anglia network

“These results confirm that H&S have the experience and capabilities to handle rail work for any of the leading contractors.”
